Commanding Officer
Warrant Officer Janelle Fifer

PRIMARY DUTIES

The Commanding Officer is responsible for the overall operation of the Texas Division. She makes decisions based upon input from the staff and has final decision making responsibility. She sets the vision and direction of the Texas Division, provides leadership through example, and sets the standard of excellence.

Warrant Officer Janelle Fifer is a retired US Navy Gunner’s Mate Chief.

Executive Officer
Instructor Robert Griggs

PRIMARY DUTIES

The Executive Officer is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Texas Division, implements the CO’s vision, provides leadership for adult volunteers, and oversees and coordinates all cadet training.

BIOGRAPHY

Robert Griggs is a US Army veteran and currently is a firearms instructor.

SECONDARY DUTIES

Instructor Maureen Kalhoefer

PRIMARY DUTIES

Performs administrative duties as designated by the Commanding Officer and Executive Officer.

BIOGRAPHY

Instructor Maureen Kalhoefer works for the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Operations Officer
Warrant Officer Arthur Cantu

PRIMARY DUTIES

The Operations Officer is responsible for the logistical implementation and support of the Commanding Officer’s vision at the Executive Officer’s direction.

BIOGRAPHY

Instructor Arthur “Dallas” Cantu is former U.S. Navy and currently an active duty Texas State Guard Combat Medic and Drill Sergeant. He also works full time as a medical educator and paramedic.

Division Officer
Instructor Mike Koonce

PRIMARY DUTIES

The Division Officer is responsible for the safety, development, training, and wellbeing of cadets within the Cadet Corps.

BIOGRAPHY

Mike Koonce is an electrical engineer and has a passion for teaching.
